Gov Saraswathi ("the app") is an independent, non-official study companion for Indian government exam aspirants. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Government of India or any state government. This page explains what information the app handles and how.
The app does not require you to create an account, and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier.
When you use an AI-powered feature — generating study notes, a custom mock test, or chatting with Sara — the text you type is sent to our backend server, which forwards it to a third-party AI model provider (Google's Gemini API) to generate a response, and the response is returned to your device. This text is used only to generate that single response and is not linked to your identity, stored long-term, sold, or used for advertising.
Please avoid typing personal, sensitive, or identifying information (such as your full name, address, ID numbers, or contact details) into these features, since that text is transmitted to the model provider to generate a reply.
If no AI backend is configured, or if a request fails, the app falls back to a bundled offline note/question bank stored entirely on your device — nothing is sent anywhere in that case.
Study progress, timetable entries, and similar preferences are stored locally on your device so the app works offline and remembers your settings. This data is not transmitted to us and is removed if you clear the app's storage or uninstall it.

Job and exam information shown in the app is provided for reference; official links point to the relevant government body's own website. We recommend always verifying details on the official source before applying.
The app is intended for general audiences preparing for government exams and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy as the app changes. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
